Former Minneapolis Police Commander Bruce Folkens left MPD in July 2021 after body cam footage showed him joking about "hunting protestors". This came at a time when MPD was also under heavy scrutiny in the aftermath of the murder of George Floyd and with significant local media attention on the bodycam footage.

Bruce Folkens created a lot of stories during his multi-decade career with the Minneapolis Police Department. He received awards, promotions, and media attention for those stories. Unfortunately for the Black children he harassed, stalked, and framed for crimes they did not commit, those stories were written into history. Some of Folkens' victims include: Marvin Haynes, Deaunteze Bobo, Myon Burrell, and Jaleel Stallings. We will allow every victim of Bruce Folkens to tell their story in their own words via audio interviews or written testimony if they wish to do so. We must know how many young Black men are sitting in prison for crimes Bruce Folkens invented to put them away when they were children or teenagers.
Over the months of April and May 2026 we will reveal the truth:
a career filled with lies, abuse, and manipulation.

We will ultimately call for a full investigation into every single case that Bruce Folkens touched during his career with Minneapolis Police. We will show the world why that investigation needs to happen, one story at a time. We will regain control of the narrative for Folkens' victims. We must never settle for the narrative that always begins with, "Police say..."
It is well past time for the truth to come out.

In the meantime enjoy some light reading about Folkens here:

Current Estimated Retirement Pension Paid to Bruce Folkens as of April 2026:
$563,801.82
(Math assumes $9,891.26 per month payment x 57 months as of April 1st, 2026 if benefits are/were paid on the 1st of each month from August 2021 through April 2026 based on figure cited in Fox News Article)
Maximum Possible Earnings for an Incarcerated Person in MN During this Time Period*:
$11,400.00
(Math assumes $1.25 per hour at 40 hours per week. 57 months at 160 hours per month. Does not factor in restitution payments which often reduce this income by 50%)
Maximum Possible Earnings for Someone Incarcerated for 20 years at Maximum Hourly Rate*:
$52,000.00
(Math assumes $1.25 per hour for 2080 hours per year for 20 years and does not factor in restitution payments which often reduce this income by 50%)
*Pay rates based on direct testimony from inmates at MN DOC Rush City, Moose Lake, Stillwater, and other facilities. 2080 hours is the average number of hours worked by a full-time employee in the US per year, not the number of hours worked by an inmate per year. Please consider these values rough estimates only.
Did Bruce Folkens transform from a seemingly accomplished athlete, singer, musician, and actor to a monster overnight? Did his need to stay at the center of attention for his entire life cause him to throw away countless lives? Cold cases don't earn promotions. Barely-believable fictional narratives apparently do.

We may never know why Bruce Folkens chose the victims he harmed during his decades of "service".
Did he have help? Was MPD leadership aware? Does this conspiracy really boil down to one single man from
St. Cloud, MN looking to make a name for himself?
